Marriage

We are wired for intimate relationships... when you have a disconnected relationship with your spouse it can cause you to feel lonely, afraid, sad, and angry. Marriage has many ups and downs, as well as going through stages throughout your life. Having been married for 30+ years myself, I have been through all those stages and know how hard some of them can be.

However, it is possible to recapture the vitality, romance, trust, and closeness you once had in your relationship. I am trained in research-based Gottman Marriage Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I combine both these therapies customizing your marriage counseling to meet your needs.

I have helped couples move past:

  • Emotional and physical affairs

  • Communication problems

  • Emotional disconnection

  • Mid-life crises and empty nest

  • Conflict resolution

  • Blended Family Issues

An important aspect of couples counseling includes helping each of you identify your own core needs and being able to express them effectively and respectfully to each other. You will also better understand yourself as an individual so that you can be a better couple.

In addition, I can help you identify destructive patterns in your relationship, and how to eradicate and replace those patterns with new and better ways to restore your friendship and intimacy as a couple.

The goal is that you both will feel love, valued and respected. Most of all, your relationship can be better and more fulfilling than it ever has been.

Many couples have said that after coming to my couples counseling, they were happy that they made the investment and did the work to gain the new relationship skills to take their relationship to the next level, not only for each other, but also for the future of their children.

I would love to partner with you to make your marriage better!
